Best Used Book Sale

The Friends of the Sierra Madre Library invite you to their December Best Used Book Sale; it will be held on Friday, December 1, (3:00 – 7:00 p.m.) and Saturday, December 2, (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.).  Featured this time will be many NEW items for all ages and suitable for gift giving. In addition, the Basement will have a huge collection of lovely art books, including titles on ceramics and pottery, contemporary and classic artists, and jewelry-making. As always, the Basement Table will be filled with a wonderful selection of “coffee-table books” on History, Sports, Contemporary Culture and Cooking. Looking Ahead to the Wine & Cuisine Tasting Event

We are already in the midst of planning for next year’s Wine & Cuisine Tasting event! This fund-raiser is a wonderful opportunity for our community to help support our Library. The 2018 event will again offer wines from all over California and beyond paired with some wonderful “tastes” from our local restaurants. The Friends of the Sierra Madre Library are preparing for the 56th Annual Art Fair. It is located in Memorial Park at Sierra Madre Boulevard and Hermosa Avenue in the charming three-square mile village of Sierra Madre. What Your Support Means

As the old song says, “I get by with a little help from my friends”. It was 1953 when a few visionaries recognized that even a library needs a friend and so began the Friends of the Sierra Madre Library. From that modest beginning, we have grown to an organization of over 300 members whose bylaws state that “The purpose of the Friends of the Sierra Madre Library is to promote awareness of, support for, and utilization of the high quality programs, services, and facilities of the Sierra Madre Library as a lifelong center of learning.” Continue Reading
