The Friends of the Sierra Madre Library announce that their August Best Used Book Sale will be held on Friday, August 2 (3:00-7:00 p.m.) and Saturday, August 3 (10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.). The sale will be held on the Temporary Library parking lot, 350 West Sierra Madre Blvd.
This will be our Back-to-School Sale, featuring reference books, study guides, flashcards, and stationery supplies. We also have a large collection of teacher resources, including The First Day of School, Better Than Carrots or Sticks: Classroom Management, STEM Projects Throughout the Year, Project-Based Learning and many more for $1.00 each! Come early for the best selection of Elementary and Secondary resources.
Our Bargain Books sell for only $1.00 each, small paperbacks 25 cents or 5/$1.00, and Children’s and Teens 25 cents-$5.00. DVDs and CDs are $1.00 each, audio books $3.00 each.
Our Table Books section will have a full cart of “Summer Beach Reads”, most are 2023 and 2024 titles for only $3.00 each. Also in our Table Books, look for many wonderful newer cookbooks by your favorite TV chefs and restaurateurs, and the vintage 6-volume set of The Memoirs of Jacques Casanova, the adventurer and author from Venice. This collection is regarded as one of the most authentic sources of European social life in the 18th century.
SATURDAY is our final day of this sale and features a $5.00 BAG SALE. Fill a large grocery bag with anything from our Bargain section for only $5.00 each.
