Best Used Book Sale

The June Best Used Book Sale will take place at the Library on Friday, June 2 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 3 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Featured this time in the basement is a Tolkien collection and a Joseph Campbell set. There will be several Horizon sets, such as The History of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, and The Arts of China and Ancient China. We will also have some large-format Art books, including Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Rembrandt. There is a Louis Lamour collection as well as some of the Time-Life series The Old West. Vintage sets such as the 1912 Junior Classics: The Young Folks Shelf of Books, Memoirs of the Life of Sir Walter Scott (1839) and the The Vailima Edition of the Works of Robert Louis Stevenson (1912) will also be for sale.

Wine and Cuisine Tasting

Don’t miss the Virtual Wine and Cuisine Tasting benefit on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:15 PM. The benefit, again, will be hosted by Jeff Champion of Rae’s Place Fine Wine Boutique. Jeff has scheduled two surprise vintners from Sonoma County. This promises to be another great evening!

Book Sales

The Friends of the Sierra Madre Library announce that the seventh annual Silent Auction of Collectible Books will take place from Monday, November 4 until Monday, December 2

Featured are 17 beautiful and collectible volumes, including some Signed, First and Deluxe editions.  The books will be in the Display Case in the Main Room of the Library.  Closer examination may be made on Saturdays, November 9, 16, 23 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and on Monday, December 2 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. 

Bids may be entered in the notebook found on the service counter in the Library. Highest bid on Monday, December 2 at 7:30 p.m. will be the winner.

57th Annual Sierra Madre Art Fair

The 57th Annual Sierra Madre Art Fair, sponsored by the Friends of the Sierra Madre Library, will be held in Memorial Park, 222 West Sierra Madre Blvd., on Saturday, May 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sierra Madre Art Fair How To Apply

The Friends of the Sierra Madre Library are preparing for the 57th Annual Art Fair. It is located in Memorial Park at Sierra Madre Boulevard and Hermosa Avenue in the charming three-square mile village of Sierra Madre. Set against the San Gabriel Mountains between Pasadena and Arcadia, it is an attraction in itself. Our downtown has a friendly mix of sidewalk cafés and shops.

Wine and Cuisine Tasting

This year’s 49th Annual Wine and Cuisine Tasting benefit will be a “Harvest Festival.” It will take place on Friday, September 27, at the Villa del Oro at Alverno High School. Please save the date into your calendar as it promises to be another very special evening.

Silent Auction Of Collectible Books

The Friends of the Sierra Made Library ‘Silent Auction of Collectible Books’ will take place from November 1 – December 3 at the Library. Featured are many interesting and collectible books, including some SIGNED, FIRST, and LIMITED EDITIONS.

The 17 selections will be in the Display Case in the main room of the Library and will be available for your inspection on Saturdays, November 3, 10, 17 and December 1 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and Monday, December 3 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Bids may be entered in the notebook on the service counter. The highest bidders on Monday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. will be the winners.
